Food Security and Nutrition
Improving nutrition and food security is OCVA ’s primary goal as part of our community mandate to fight hunger and poverty, OCVA strategic focus is on achieving sustainable food and nutrition security for the most vulnerable. Most of the hungry are farming families in rural areas – and these are the areas we work in. Our projects address failures in food and economic systems in order to eradicate hunger, in all its forms, throughout the Communities
Education and Child Rights
Under this program OVCA strives to improve the livelihoods of OVCs and communities through Facilitating the integration orphans and vulnerable children aged 3 -12 years into the main stream school for a better education. We also Provide psychosocial training to teachers and psychosocial outreach to children through child-friendly services and intergraded life skills
Economic Empowerment
We work towards building positive changes to Women through financial inclusion and economic empowerment initiatives that address needs of chronic livelihood insecure women constrained by lack of access to and control over productive assets, basic services and denial of rights living in urban informal and rural settings. We also believe that training young people and creating job opportunities in poor regions is key to development, economic growth and the way out of hunger and poverty.
Child Health Care
We want to see vulnerable children achieve their full potential, but sadly many children living in poor communities face myriad risks that lead to them being vulnerable: A lack of basic food and water, HIV & aids, violence at home, sexual abuse and exploitation, disabilities, and trafficking. Your support can rescue vulnerable children today, and get them to safety. You can partner with us long-term to strengthen families and see the children you’ve helped rescue thriving in safe and healthy communities.
